Local Tower Information

This section of the Lyndenlea website replaces and expands upon the Tower Information pages removed from the Bristol Rural Tower Locator. Focusing on each Tower's bells and associated fittings, much time has gone into researching the history of each installation, including details of the clock if there is one. Also, details of any additional bells separate from the main ring have been added to the end of each tower's page. Information about ringing times is not included here as this is better placed on Association, Branch and Tower websites.

Towers with rings of bells that for whatever reason no longer exist in their original location have been relocated to the Lost Rings section. Links have of course been provided where one or more bells has been transferred to another Tower listed on this website.

The table below gives a summary of the number of Towers that I have researched within each Branch of the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers (which, it should be noted, is not necessarily all of the Towers in that Branch), broken down by the number of bells in each ring. Additional bells separate from the main ring (such as Clock, Sanctus or Service bells), whether or not hung for full-circle ringing, are not included in these totals; however, details of such bells may be found within the tower information pages themselves. The name of each Branch provides a link to the full list of rings that I have researched in that Branch.
